Biography

Dr. Haijun Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Temple University. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) in 2012. Prior to joining Temple University, he was a post-doctoral Research Associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (Gaithersburg, MD) and UMD. His area of expertise is in the fundamental science of sensor technology and its applications. In particular, his research focuses on employing new sensing mechanisms inspired by nature, engineering advanced metamaterials, and developing a solid understanding of the pertinent mechanics. Dr. Liu was a Future Faculty Fellow at the A. James Clark School of Engineering of UMD in 2009-2010.
