Cybersecurity and Human Behavior Major

Cybersecurity and Human Behavior Major

Gain experience beyond traditional technical skills with the Bachelor of Arts in Cybersecurity and Human Behavior in the College of Liberal Arts. This 123-credit undergraduate program prepares students for careers in cybersecurity through an innovative curriculum focused on the human, behavioral and ethical components of cyberattacks and cybersecurity.

What is cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity is a highly relevant field involving the practices, people and policies that prevent and protect organizations, individuals or networks from cyberattacks.

Why study cybersecurity and human behavior at Temple?

  • Learning outcomes: Students learn skills that set them apart in the field, including the ability to think critically, problem-solve, conduct research, form creative solutions and be curious about the topics at hand. In addition to understanding the human behavior behind cyberattacks, you will also form expertise about governance, risk and compliance related to everyday users, organizations and governments.
  • Faculty expertise: Graduates of the cybersecurity program at Temple gain an edge in today’s job market through faculty who are subject matter experts currently working in the field.
  • Foundation in both liberal arts and science: The curriculum’s multidisciplinary approach and coursework are designed to teach you innovative solutions that better protect the cyberthreat landscape through a combination of liberal arts and the sciences. The program’s focus on the liberal arts means students gain perspectives that help them study and understand human behavior in the field, such as training in psychology, sociology and communication. Additionally, coursework in Temple’s College of Science and Technology provides the necessary hard sciences training.
